MYTHBUSTERS
DELIVERED BY THE LEADING MEDIA BRAND IN UK FLEET DECARBONISATION, THE 5-DAY UK EV RALLY FROM GREENFLEET HAS BECOME THE MOST TALKED-ABOUT EVENT IN THE INDUSTRY.
Launched in 2021, on the backdrop of COP26 in Glasgow, 2026 is the 6th running of the UK Rally. Having seen ‘rapid chargers’ go from 50kWh power delivery in Scotland in year 1, to 400kWh in 2025, we have been at the sharp-end of innovation, showcasing charging infrastructure in real-world conditions.
When more than 50 EVs descend upon a Hub, we truly ‘test’ the capability of the technology. We have demonstrated that the cars can do this stuff, with ease. The van technology has evolved rapidly over the last 2 or 3 years and although they still need to charge more often than the cars, our 300+ mile tests have still proved more than doable. And then there’s the trucks… We have already showcased eHGV capability, beginning in 2023. But 2026 was always earmarked as ‘The Year of the Electric Truck’… And the result is that the 2026 event will carry a ‘Rally within the Rally’… TRUCKS+TRAILERS!
Once again, we’re at the forefront of the latest in e-mobility innovation… All wrapped-up in real-world conditions!
We have pushed the boundaries… Taken on challenges that have never been attempted on this scale before… And we have achiEVed! We have proven that the switch to e-mobility is possible… That the charging infrastructure is already good, and is getting better, year on year… We’ve busted myths, we’ve changed perceptions… In short, the EV RALLY works!
So, what do we have in store next?
In September, we will once again take 5 days to prove EV viability, and because of the ‘FUD’ (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt) that still surrounds the world of EV, we feel there is a need to ‘bust some myths’ along the way, in the form of live, real-world demonstrations. And, as usual, we will combine this with our usual examples of innovation in charging infrastructure and clean energy as we go.
See below for more details on how YOU can be a part of something UNBELIEVABLE!

The Rally events are designed to ‘play out across social media’. This is achieved by the drivers posting at every Official Checkpoint, and then in-between. As a fleet and business event, the prominent platform is LinkedIn, but participants will have also used X, Instagram and even Facebook and TikTok. The stats below focuses solely on the participating ‘Teams’ activity on LinkedIn. It is worth noting that the DRIVER posts are not included in the reported figures, but we estimate the number of ‘CONNECTIONS’ would be more than triple the published figures below!

As with any business/event, we are in a battle with our competitors to get the ‘lion’s share of airtime’ across the social media platforms. Here’s how we stacked up against our biggest rivals, on LinkedIn. In a couple of cases, we are up against pages with double our connection numbers… And in one case, four-and-a-half times our connections!

A GREENFLEET EVENT, BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE EVR MEDIA CREW!

‘OFFICIAL TEAM’ PARTICIPATION OPPORTUNITIES… Working together, to keep your brand ahead of the competition…
Voted ‘Event of the Year’ in the media industry… With coverage found all over the world, including the US, Canada, Australia, India and across Europe and Scandinavia, the EV Rally really has captured the imagination in the world of e-mobility.
We have seen drivers featured on BBC radio, over the years, and with BBC regional TV news coverage every year, the event, and its participants, are literally seen by millions.
Couple all of that with the social media reach, taking into account the brands involved, together with the individuals, there truly is only one place to be this September… On the START Line in Exeter!
So, get in touch and find it what it’s going to take to secure your place on the most talked about EVent in the UK fleet calendar!

2026 sees the Rally run across two separate routes, over the 5 days…
With the introduction of ‘TRUCKS+TRAILERS’ in 2026, we will operate a route for the cars and vans, which will see teams do a mix of A and B road driving, motorways, etc. Taking in some remote and rural areas, we will once again demonstrate that operating an EV ‘out in the sticks’ is viable. And to tackle the myth that they’re slow and sluggish, we will also take in the highest roads in both Wales and England as we go!
And the TRUCKS+TRAILERS category will run as a stand-alone feature, taking in – for the main part – trunk roads and motorways, imitating their real-world purpose. And as we go, they will ‘Check In’ at some of the new eHGV charging hubs, demonstrating eHGV viability.
Where possible, we will double-up on some Checkpoints, so the Teams come together to share knowledge and expertise and increase the social media amplification. We will also look to bring the Teams together on a couple of the overnight stops too, increasing that comradery and feel-good factor, synonymous with the EV Rally.
So, get in touch and find it what it’s going to take to secure your place on the most talked about EVent in the UK fleet calendar!

We have uncovered the most popular (and some of the more obscure) myths that surround Electric Vehicles (EV) and are used as a barrier to prevent uptake. Our collective responsibility, as participants in the EV Rally, is to help communicate the positives, ‘BUST’ those myths and help educate and stimulate the market.
The MYTHBUSTERS EV Rally ‘26 aims to do just that. Our core values – Vehicle Capability, Charging Infrastructure and Clean Energy – will still run through the heart of the event and will feature in Checkpoints (CP) and our content, as we go. But we will aim to BUST a big and popular myth on each of the 5 days, and encourage all participating teams, plus the media crew, to combat additional ones, along the way.
We will also reach out to some educational establishments too, with a view to visiting and helping influence the ‘future e-mobility generation’.
Here is an overview of some of the myths we will BUST:
And all the while, we will also tackle and BUST these myths!
► EV batteries wear out fast and are expensive to replace.
► You can’t take long road trips in an EV
► EVs are too expensive.
► EVs don’t have enough models or styles.
► EVs are complicated to maintain.
► EVs aren’t suitable for cold climates.
► EV technology isn’t reliable yet.
SPECIAL FEATURE
EVs are supposedly bad for towing or hauling. The ‘26 EV Rally will feature “TRUCKS+TRAILERS” – A Rally-within-the-Rally, where the participants will showcase new and eHGV-specific charging hubs, plus demonstrate ‘towing. CLICK HERE FOR MORE…
