Highway Stops Retail Limited (HSRL) is a family‑owned forecourt operator founded in 2011, now running 14 petrol filling stations across the South‑East of England. The business has recently focused on EV and green‑energy development, positioning itself as a forward‑looking operator committed to customer service in a rapidly electrifying transport sector while remaining true to its roots. Under its Stop and Supercharge brand, HSRL now provides EV charging at four locations: Astwick SG5 4BL, Erith DA8 3EX, Amersham HP6 6AJ, and Lye DY9 8DG.
The flagship Astwick site opened in early 2026 and features eight Kempower charging connections delivering up to 400 kWh each, all beneath a purpose‑built canopy fitted with solar panels. Additional solar generation is installed on the main forecourt canopy and shop roof, supporting HSRL’s wider green initiatives and reducing grid dependency.
Astwick’s facilities — including Costa, Subway, public toilets, an ATM, indoor seating, and car‑washing — make it a fully equipped stop for private EV drivers and commercial fleets. As a busy HGV location with space to expand, HSRL is also evaluating HGV EV charging as technology matures.
Looking ahead, subject to suitable returns, HSRL is keen to expand EV infrastructure both through site acquisitions and upgrades across its estate, strengthening its role in supporting low‑carbon transport throughout the region.
