Dinorwig Power Station in North Wales is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Europe, built deep beneath Elidir Mountain with 16 kilometres of tunnels and capable of delivering power to the grid within seconds. Together with Ffestiniog Power Station — the UK’s first major pumped-storage facility, providing 360 MW of fast-responding power, these sites play a critical role in balancing supply and demand.
