Explorer EV Rally: Team Farizon

As Farizon makes its debut at the GREENFLEET Explorer EV Rally, we speak with Kate McLaren, Head of Marketing and Sales Operations at Farizon (Jameel Motors UK), about showcasing the new Farizon SV electric van, supporting the rally as Official Logistics Partner, and what’s next for the brand

We are delighted that Farizon is joining us on the EV Rally for the first time this year. Could you tell us why you decided to participate?

As a new entrant to the UK eLCV market, the GREENFLEET Explorer EV Rally seemed a great opportunity to showcase the capability of our born-electric Farizon SV. With a combined range of up to 247 miles, the rally will highlight the features and benefits of this new benchmark electric van. We’re planning to bring some special guests along and to have a lot of fun over the week.

Please tell us about team Farizon - who will be driving and in what vehicles?

Our teams will be driving a cross-section of our line-up, so the L1H1, L2H2 and also our largest van, the L3H3. As well as the vans taking part in the rally, as the Official Logistics Partner, the Farizon SV will be instrumental in supporting the GREENFLEET team with behind-the-scenes organisation en route.

Do you anticipate any challenges on the EV Rally, especially given you will be in vans? What will your strategy be to tackle these?

We don’t anticipate any significant challenges. The range and dynamic performance of the SV means it’ll hold its own and perform impressively across the event…and I suspect some of the other participants might be asking us for favours to carry some of their kit, given the massive cargo capacity we’ll have.

The Farizon SV electric van has made its public debut at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show - please tell us more about the vehicle and the launch?

Established in 2016, Farizon is the commercial vehicle division of Geely, China’s largest private vehicle manufacturer. The Farizon SV is being introduced to the UK by Jameel Motors UK, a London-based automotive distribution business and part of Jameel Motors.

We launched the L1H1 and L2H2 variants of the Farizon SV early this year. At the CV Show, we welcomed the largest of our vans, the L3H3. The Farizon SV is also available with three battery options, 67kWh, 83kWh, and 106kWh on the L3H3 variant, with the ability to charge from 20% to 80% in just 36 minutes. The SV is equipped with a highly specified trim level that includes several premium features as standard, including heated seats, heated multifunction steering wheel, heated windscreen, 360-degree surround view, and a comprehensive suite of ADAS safety systems.

Farizon is also participating as the Rally’s Logistics Partner. Could you tell us what vehicles you will be providing the EV Rally team, and what advantages they will bring?

We will be providing the EV Rally team with two L1H1 and two L3H3 versions of the Farizon SV. The SV offers up to 13m³ of cargo volume, a payload capacity of up to 1,350kg, and an extra-low loading height of just 550mm, vehicle-to-load as well as a very helpful payload monitoring system, making it the perfect vehicle for the job. As well as this, the vans are available with 270-degree opening rear doors and a tow hitch with a braked towing capacity of up to 2,000kg.

Please tell us about Farizon's future plans.

We have some exciting plans for the remainder of the year, including the announcement of our franchised dealer network. We also have plans for our flagship site in London to be announced soon.
