At Transport for Wales, we're helping people make greener travel choices that work in the real world. Supporting EV Rally Cymru is part of that commitment, showcasing the progress Wales is making towards a low-carbon transport future.
Over recent years, we've helped expand Wales’s public EV charging network, delivering charging facilities at rail stations and key locations across the country to make electric vehicle travel more accessible and convenient. We're also supporting community-led charging and car club initiatives that help ensure the benefits of electric mobility are available to people living in rural and under-served areas.
Decarbonisation is transforming public transport across Wales. We've introduced all-electric buses on the TrawsCymru T1 and T22 routes and are continuing to modernise our rail network through new trains and increased electrification, helping to reduce emissions while improving customer journeys.
EV Rally Cymru provides a powerful platform to demonstrate what's possible today. By putting vehicles and charging infrastructure to the test in real-world conditions, the rally helps challenge perceptions about driving electric vehicles in Wales, while showcasing innovation in clean energy, integrated transport, and sustainable mobility.
More than just electric vehicles, this is about building an integrated transport network that connects people, communities and places in a sustainable way. We're proud to be working with Welsh Government, local authorities and partners across Wales to make low carbon travel a practical, accessible choice for everyone.
